Solon Patch had tons of news this week, so you may have missed some of it.
Never fear: Your week in review is here to get you caught up on any big stories you missed.
The big story lots of people were talking about (including other media in the area) was the story out of Erie County that a number of Solon High School students were arrested for drinking and drugs during a PTA fundraiser at Kalahari Resort.
We also had a great edition of Comet Corner this week, featuring Dallas Lauderdale, a Solon grad and one of the main players on the No. 1-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes basketball team.
In city government, the big news is that after a week of deliberations, the Solon City Council appointed Nancy Meany to serve as the Ward 5 councilwoman. In the lead-up to the appointment, Solon Patch interviewed the five candidates for the post and also covered city council's interviews.
The crime blotter also stayed busy this week, including a report of a stranger scaring two 14-year-old girls on their way to the bus stop, a "road rage" incident on 422, a strange and angry visitor at a Solon business.
We had lots of arts coverage this week, mostly with a jazz theme. We previewed Ross Faranda's performance at the Solon Center for the Arts and also famous trombone player Andy Martin's visit to Solon High School to give the music students some pointers. We also covered a play at Hillcrest Hospital that tackled the tricky subject of eating disorders. We also did a feature on a Solon grad who is now teaching music in Cleveland Heights.
We also honored a couple of Solon residents who passed away this week, including firefighter Vern Van Nostran, 72, and Dr. Frederick D. Turner, who was 89.

We have lots of features we're excited about starting next week.

To help us with this coverage, we are forming a Solon Moms Council, so any Solon moms interested, please drop me an e-mail at chrism@patch.com
Second, Thursday will be "Must See Day," featuring loads of content to help you plan your weekend and get to know your community better.
