The high school is located at 33600 Inwood Road. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and gates open at 6:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and kick off the summer season with great music.
The evening will be hosted by Cleveland favorite, Mark Nolan of WMJI Majic 105.7. It will be a fun, family concert with refreshments and souvenirs available for purchase.
Phil Dirt & the Dozers, America's premiere and most popular vintage rock and roll group, performed at Solon Home Days three years ago. Since then, they worked with Chris Farmer, the original Beach Boys music director, and wrote the charts for this concert to perform along side local orchestras.
These fabulous musicians, along with the Solon Philharmonic Orchestra, will take you back to the time when a new Chevy cost about $2,000 and poodle skits, saddle shoes and the corner drug store were a part of everyday life. An added treat to help you re-live those fond memories and bring you back to that era will be an exhibit of vintage cars courtesy of the Rock ‘N Roll Street Machines car club.
Surfs Up! is the first of three events as part of the 2012 Signature Series - SCA’s 10th Anniversary Celebration grant generously supported by the residents of Cuyahoga County through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. Additional support is given by Friends of Solon Center for the Arts and the 2012 Signature Club Members.
Should there be inclement weather, the concert will move indoors to the high school auditorium.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students. Children age 10 and under are free with a ticketed adult. Call (440) 337-1400 for tickets or more information.
