Papa Johns Pizza Opening in Solon
The national pizza chain will open a new location in Solon Square shopping plaza.
Papa John's is coming to Solon.
The national pizza chain is opening a new location in Solon at Solon Square shopping plaza on Aurora Road. The pizza chain will be located next to Radioshack.
Solon Patch doesn't have any official confirmation of when the location will open, though it does appear to be close.
Solon Square has welcomed a number of new tenants in 2012, including Frozen Oasis, Caito's Nutrition and a new Huntington Bank branch.
The plaza is preparing to welcome natural grocery store Earth Fare, which is set to open sometime this year in the former Stein Mart location.

Geraci's would be great! I think a lot of Solonites came from the Heights area. But, I also know they wouldn't pay the premium for great pizza.

I say why not open a Papa Johns. If people around here don't like their pizzas, then they won't last. I for one was disappointed when Dino's closed. The restaurant business is tough. It's better to have something in that shopping center than empty stores.

Do you really think that the planning commission and council will work WITH an independent? It takes a chain (think Giant Eagle) to provide the expensive attorneys to get past the obstacles created by city officials. The general rules of council and planning are: any new business or alterations to existing business must be invisible, colors must be dull earthtones, signs should not be necessary. I remember when planning and council almost drove Steinmart out because the letters on Steinmart's sign were 2 inches bigger than the planners wanted. I'm interested to see what the city will do with the plans for the new eatery on Aurora. Council and planners wholeheartedly approved of the way the building looks now-and the owner had to jump through countless hoops. I hope common sense prevails, but judging from the past, it's unlikely.

The original Antonio's in Parma had excellent pizza and house salads. We went there a lot when we lived on the westside. I imagine the store in Solon Village will be one of their "Express" outlets. Mom and Pop did it better, but its still a decent pizza.
