Solon Police arrested a man and charged him with domestic violence after witnesses said he assaulted his wife behind a small shopping plaza on Aurora Road.

The 51-year-old man is charged with domestic violence and is being held in the Solon Jail without bond.

Police arrived on the scene in an alley near the 33600 block of Aurora Road to find a couple near a parked car. The woman had red marks on her neck, according to the police report.

Witnesses told police the men had pinned the woman against a wall with his forearm.

While being questioned by police, the woman passed out. Police summoned paramedics to the scene, but the woman was roused and refused treatment.

Child services were contacted because the couple's 2-year-old child was inside the car during the struggle, according to the report.
