Maliyah and Malaka Jones Identified as Victims of I-77 Crash

The Solon residents and a Cleveland woman were confirmed as the victims of a horrific I-77 crash on Monday, according to multiple media outlets

Officials in Wood County, West Virginia, confirmed today that Maliyah and Malaka Jones, of Solon, were both killed in a horrific crash Monday on Interstate 77, acording to the Parkersburg News & Sentinel

Also killed in the crash was Sherita Hogans, 29, of Cleveland, Wood County Sheriff Jeff Sandy told the newspaper.

Solon schools officials announced earlier this week that Maliyah, an 11-year-old fifth grader at Orchard Middle School, and her mother, a 38-year-old Solon woman, were both killed in an car crash.

Wood County officials had said at the time they believed the victims of Monday's crash were from Solon, but wanted to wait until an autopsy was complete to confirm it.

My deepest sympathy for the families of these ladies and daughter. It is such a sad day for your families.
My prayers go out to your family. I know they will be terribly missed and were loved. GOD needed
their help and has a place for them. I am sure they have their wings and are at his side. May you have peace in GODS LOVE. Dena of WestVirginia.
