The Solon Lady Comets kicked off a promising 2012-13 season with a 59-51 win at St. Vincent- St. Mary.
The Comets (1-0) got off to a fast start and never trailed in the game. The Comets were led in scoring by Martha Thompson with 24 points and Jordan Bekelja with 17 points.
The Comets open up their home season with a game Wednesday against Mayfield. JVs tip off at 6 p.m. and the varsity game is at 7:30 p.m.
