Glenville Trounces Solon 40-17
The Solon Comets fall to 1-1 after a tough 40-17 loss to Glenville at Stewart Field.
Last week, Solon's playmakers wouldn't let them lose.
Tonight, all the playmaking was on Glenville's side, as offensive threat Marshon Lattimore scored four touchdowns to lead Glenville over the Solon Comets by a score of 40-17.
Solon falls to 1-1 on the young season.
Despite an error-prone Glenville punt unit that gave Solon good field position throughout the night, the Comets couldn't capitalize. George Berry scored twice for the Comets, once on a Drew Barksdale pass and another on a short, goal-line run.
Solon was only able to muster one other scoring play, a 25-yard field goal by Keon Hemerlein before halftime, when the score was 14-10 Glenville.
The game was still in reach after three quarters -- Solon even had a 17-16 lead in the third -- before Lattimore busted an 80 yard touchdown run and any chances of a Comets comeback.
Akron Buchtel is up next for the Comets.
