Four Solon High Students Named Presidential Scholar Candidates
Four Solon High seniors were named as candidates in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
Four Solon High School students were named as U.S. Presidential Scholar candidates, one of the nation's highest honors for graduating seniors.
The four Solon candidates are Oliver W. Chen, Lisa N. Guo, Michael B. Li and Johnathan Zeng, according to a list of candidates posted on the U.S. Presidential Scholars web site.
The four students were picked from a pool of thousands of students across the U.S. named as candidates in the annual Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation's highest honors for graduating seniors. Application to the program is by invite only, and based on ACT and SAT scores.
In the end, mo more than 141 will be selected as scholars by a commission appointed by President Barack Obama. The students should learn if they are chosen in May.
