Ewww! Does Solon Have A Skunk Problem? (POLL)
The Solon Times reports that residents in the ABC Street area say they are overrun with skunks. Do you think Solon has a skunk problem?
Move over deer. Skunks are the new pests in the streets of Solon.
That is, at least according to some residents in the ABC Streets, reports the Solon Times.
Their report begins:
As Solon prepares to begin its deer culling program as early as next month, some residents think a skunk culling program might be in order.
That’s particularly the case for residents on the ABC streets, where a skunk problem has become on ongoing issue, so much so that seeing a skunk is not an uncommon occurrence.
“I’ve seen them in the front yard and walking down the street,” Baldwin Road resident Arthur Reker said.
At least no skunks have jumped through anyone's living room window.
So what do you think? Does Solon have a skunk problem. Take our poll and tell us in the comments!

I have lived on Duneden for the past 8 years. I agree totally that it’s a common occurrence running into these stinkers. My Dog has been sprayed twice in the past year. Please do something about this already!

And not just the ABC streets! We're on SOM just south of Arthur...had them under our front porch until the groundhogs chased them away! Our large back yard saw many a skunk this year...one came within 5 feet of us while we were out enjoying a summer evening. Brazen things, they be!

Not Solon specific, but once upon a time, I was out getting the newspaper in the morning. I bend over to get it, glance over to my right, and there's a skunk, staring at me about three feet away. We looked at each other without moving for what felt like forever, and then he wandered off. I guess I won.
But I digress...

Terrible skunk problem near the high school. I put moth balls in the skunk hole by our house and that does work. Skunks go under the neighbor's deck and it stinks to high heavens. Another neighbor sprinkles hot pepper flakes under her deck to keep skunks away. She says it works. The city really needs to address the skunk problem. Sometimes skunk stench permeates the entire neighborhood.. Skunks carry rabies.
