Drunken Naps & Parked Car Plowing: Best of the Blotter

Here are some of the weirdest police reports from departments across the region

Here are this week's most bizarre police calls, reports and charges. All information was provided by police reports from departments in Patch communities. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Nursing home nap: A nursing home bed can be too comfortable to pass up.

A drunken man couldn't do it on Aug. 5 in North Canton. Police responded to Windsor Medical Center after a caller said a 21-year-old man was asleep in a resident's bed.

He had no relation to the residents and no permission to be on the Windsor grounds.

Laying down on lawns: In Stow, front lawns were the best options for a man in need of rest. A Tudor Lane resident called police to report a man sleeping in front of his home at 4 a.m. on Aug. 4.

The resident woke the 18-year-old man up to move, but he didn't get to far. He walked two homes down the street and fell asleep on another lawn.

Police were called to Chatwood Drive a few hours later that day because a driver saw the same man sleeping on a lawn. The intoxicated man was arrested and ordered to appear in Stow Municipal Court.

Beans in boxes: Twinsburg mailboxes have been under attack all summer, and recent reports show that food and personal care products are the weapons of choice.

An Abrams Drive resident told police on July 30 that someone placed pork and beans into their mailbox. A resident on Holmes Drive found Vaseline all over mailboxes on Holmes and Moorland drives the following day.

Four-letter toilet paper: A group of Cuyahoga Falls vandals went the extra mile while toilet-papering a home on Adam Run Drive.

Not only did tissue cover a homeowners home, lawn and trees on Aug. 3, it also covered his driveway. The paper was placed in a manner to spell out profanities along the driveway. Cuyahoga Falls Police have not identified any suspects.

Not one, but five: When it comes to hitting parked cars, one is usually enough.

However, a 27-year-old Lorain woman struck five around noon on July 28 outside Giant Eagle in the Promenade in Westlake. The drunk driver hit the cars with so much force that they were almost completely knocked out of their parking spaces.

She has been charged with drunk driving and wanton/willful disregard of safety.

Judith these are just some stories they pulled from the region that they thought were interesting. Probably has to do with SEO as well.

Last night I went out at 11 pm and saw someone laying on my neighbor's lawn. I said "are you ok?" and got no answer. I was headed out for 45 mins so was going to call the cops if he was still there when I got back, but he was gone. I hate drunk people. I live in Stow, not a college party town!!!!
