Drunken Driving Checkpoint Leads to Numerous Arrests

The Solon Police conducted a drunken driving checkpoint on Aug. 25, leading to a number of arrests for drunken driving, drugs and other citations.

 

Solon Police officers conducted a drunken driving checkpoint on Aug. 25 and arrested seven for drunken driving and issues a slew of citations.

The checkpoint was conducted at Richmond and Cannon roads in Solon from approximately 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

During those six hours, 469 cars were checked and 34 were diverted for further investigation. 

The following actions were taken:

  • 7 drunken driving arrests
  • 7 citations issued for Driving under Suspension
  • 1 citation issued for No Driver’s License
  • 7 citations issued for marijuana possession
  • 2 citations issued for possession of drug paraphernalia
  • 3 citations issued for open alcohol container
  • 3 warrant arrests made for other agencies
  • 2 Felony drug charges
  • 13 vehicles towed
