Solon High will add pink to its school colors this week.
The school will unite behind school spirit and sports next week for "Comets For the Cure," an effort to raise awareness and money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the leading foundation in the fight against breast cancer.
Students will be selling pink T-shirt with the "Comets for the Cure" logo on them. The $15 shirts will gain students admittance into four Solon home games that will feature pink- and cure-themed entertainment.
Those games are:
- Monday, Sept. 24: Boys soccer versus Mentor
- Thursday, Sept. 27: Volleyball versus Strongsville
- Friday, Sept. 28: Football versus Medina
- Saturday, Sept. 29: Girls soccer versus Hudson
The Solon Volleyball team has hosted a "Volley For the Cure" event for years.
School officials love that idea, but thought it would be a good idea to do expand it school wide and unite all of the students and athletes in a good cause.
