City Grant Will Help Business Consolidate, Expand In Solon
The city will give a grant to a company to rehabilitate a vacant industrial building in Solon.
The city of Solon plans to give a $70,000 grant to a company to help rehab a vacant building in the city's industrial district.
City Council approved the growth and revitalization incentive grant Monday. The one-time grant will allow CO-AX Technologies, a Solon business, to consolidate and grow at the building at 6225 Camp Industrial Road.
CO-AX, which will accept the grant with a limited liability company called CTI Solon Properties LLC, plans to spent about $4.3 million to repair the building to suit its purposes.
CO-AX Technologies is located on Ambina Drive in Solon and has numerous locations throughout the city. This 124,000-square-foot facility will allow them to locate all of their operations under one roof.
Work on the building is expected to begin in May and take about a year.

124,000 square foot vacant building in the city's industrial district? An abandoned building in the industrial district about the same size as the proposed Nestle research facility. How can that be? The residents were told that no industrial property was available. We had to rezone residential property to allow Nestle to develop its research center and in the process, disturb a wetlands area and the park setting as well as feed a hundred cars each morning and evening into residential streets 5 days a week.
Thank you City Hall for protecting the local residents on Cannon from this intrusion.
