Bank Robbery Update: Thief Got Away With $200 in Singles

The police report provided more details on the bank robbery last week at Ohio Savings Bank in Solon.

The police report form the shed more light on the crime.

Authorities are still searching for the robber, who is described as a middle-aged black man with a scruffy beard and tattoos on both arms.

Sometime after 4 p.m. July 6, a man entered the Ohio Savings Bank on Aurora Road and slipped a note to the teller that read: "$3,000 now," according to the report.

The teller, thinking the man was a customer trying to withdraw cash, asked for his social security number. The police report said the man then changed his tone and said "listen to me" to the teller.

The tell did not have $3,000, but gave the man a pack of singles totaling $200. The man then ran off and fled the scene on foot.

The man did not have a weapon, the report read.

The police are working with the FBI on the investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Solon Police Department Detective Bureau at 440-248-1234.
