NEW SOCCER FRANCHISE KICKS OFF IN CLEVELAND
CLEVELAND, Ohio, January 30, 2013 – There’s a new soccer franchise in town. This one doesn’t have highly paid players, a fancy stadium or expensive tickets. HappyFeet Cleveland is a new and exciting mobile soccer program for children ages 2-6. The Cleveland location, which is part of a national franchise, opened for business in August 2012 and is owned by Solon resident Rick Pavia.
HappyFeet is the nation’s number one youth soccer development program. The successful franchise’s proven techniques of “story time with a soccer ball,” engages children in a fun weekly activity that is committed to helping them form healthy exercise habits by using the world’s most popular sport…soccer!
Trained and background checked HappyFeet soccer coaches provide 30-minute on-site classes in preschools and daycare centers as enrichment programs for a school’s curriculum. During these classes, the coaches challenge the children to gain coordination and skills through gaining mastery of their own soccer ball. They will develop bravery, creative leadership, and character by gaining unique training at a young age. The coaches also integrate games, songs and nursery rhymes into the curriculum to ensure it’s memorable and fun. Through exemplary coaching, this program also gives the children a tremendous head start in their technical soccer skills.
Josh Gottron, who has a background in soccer, is the Director of HappyFeet Cleveland. He says business is off to a great start. “Everyone really loves it. The school directors, the parents, the coaches, and most important, the children”, says Gottron. “There truly is no other soccer program like it; and once people see our free demo, they’re convinced. Plus, we take care of everything so school directors can focus on the many other things they need to worry about.” School Directors who are interested in learning more about the program can call for a free, no obligation demonstration.
In addition to the on-site classes at preschools and daycare centers, HappyFeet classes will be offered at other locations so that children not enrolled in school can also participate. The program also offers non-competitive leagues for children ages 3-6. This spring, the first indoor HappyFeet league will be held at the Multiplex facility in Warrensville Heights. “It’s a beautiful indoor turf field, which means no concerns about bad weather, cancellations or injuries,” says Gottron. In addition, there are no parents coaches (as is common with programs at this age), which means the children get taught by trained coaches and the parents can relax and enjoy watching their children. Each league session begins with a training session where the children will learn a soccer skill and have fun doing it. Then they play in the game where they are encouraged and rewarded for using the skills they just learned. Gottron said that all participants get equal playing time, an awesome HappyFeet t-shirt and an end of season pizza party. Parents can register their children for the spring league by going to www.NeoHappyFeet.com and clicking Spring Leagues. There is a discount for registering by March 8.
Once the children “graduate” from the HappyFeet program at age six, they can then enroll in the next level, which is called “Future Legends”. The Legends program, which focuses on ages 6-18, is designed to take soccer training to the next level by following a proven system that has resulted in many players who have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional level. The Legends programing for Cleveland is currently under development and is expected to be available in 2014. Those interested in coaching or director opportunities may contact us.
Overall, the HappyFeet goal is to enrich children’s lives through the education of the game of soccer. Each child is given the chance to have fun, improve their enjoyment of fitness activities, achieve a higher self-concept, and gain advanced soccer skills at a young age through the unique curriculum available through these weekly classes and leagues.
