The City of Solon Recreation Department has immediate openings for Lifeguards at the Solon Community Center. This is a part time non-civil service hourly position which reports directly to the Aquatics Manager.
Qualified applicants must be at least 15 years of age and possess the following credentials: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED Certifications. The successful applicant must be able to work and communicate (both written and verbally) well with adults and children. This position includes working a flexible schedule, mornings, evenings, weekends and also requires attendance at staff training meetings.
Candidates will be required to monitor the safety and well being of patrons visiting the Solon Aquatic Facilities. They must be able to communicate directions, rules, regulations, etc. to patrons. In addition, the employee must maintain a safe environment by daily cleaning the pool area. Lifeguard employees need to have the ability to recognize and remove any safety hazards immediately and respond to emergencies appropriately. Candidates must be capable of performing First-Aid and CPR, along with having knowledge of our fire and tornado evacuation procedures.
